There's a Minecraft show (called OMGcraft) on YouTube and on the TWiT network, and the host's computer is a MacBook Pro, so that might be useful information. You could post there and ask the question. The MacBook Pro is good enough for him to run his MineCraft show on it, anyway. The great thing about MacBook is that it can get used to the performance of any game. For instance, my brother and I have computers (both the same) with Minecraft on them. After 3 minutes of play, my computer turns on its fans to the high setting and starts heavy breathing. Namely, users can only play with each other if they're running the same Minecraft edition, e.g. Java (on our Macs) or Bedrock/Pocket (on our iPad/iPhone). I tried looking for Minecraft multiplayer server communities that host both platforms, but I've come up short. Minecraft Performance Guide
If you’re struggling to get a smooth frame rate in Minecraft, there are ways to improve it.
There’s the obvious, like switching your graphics from “Fancy” to “Fast”, turning down the render distance, turning off clouds, and disabling the more complex lighting and particle effects.
You can also run the game in either a smaller screen, or full screen. The former helps by giving your computer less on-screen information to process, the latter by making sure your computer focuses only on Minecraft. If one option doesn’t work, try the other.
If you’re playing on a multiplayer server, being around lots of other players can also cause significant lag. Try setting up your base somewhere a bit more off the beaten track.
If you want to check your frame rate, you can bring up the debug screen by pressing F3. If you’re still having issues, open the Task Manager and set the Minecraft process to high priority.
If your computer matches the system requirements for Minecraft, then it is available for purchase here, but if you want a free alternative check the Trove system requirements. Note that there is no Minecraft Steam version available - you need to go to Mojang or Amazon to get it. Oh and while it's on the Xbox bundle there is no Minecraft PC Game Pass offer.
